How to use this SEO audit template
Work through the sections in order. Technical checks come first because nothing else matters if Google can’t crawl and index your pages. Within each section, fix Critical and High items before the rest.
Your ticks are saved in this browser, so you can come back later. To share the audit with a client or a team, download the CSV and import it into Google Sheets or Excel. It has Status and Notes columns ready to fill in.
Audit one page or the whole site?
Most on-page items (title, description, headings, images) apply to every page, so start with your most important ones: the homepage, top landing pages, and the pages that bring in sales or leads. Site-wide items like HTTPS, robots.txt and the sitemap only need checking once.
For a quick start, run our free audit on a page: it covers 33 of these checks and links each problem to a fix guide. You can also use our Google snippet preview, robots.txt tester and llms.txt generator.
