Title tag missing, too short or too long
High priorityOn-page SEO
The page has no <title>, or its title is under 30 or over 60 characters, so it is either invisible in search results or cut off.
What triggers this issue
- Page has no title tag: there is no
<title>element, or it is empty. - Title is short: under 30 characters, which wastes space for keywords and a reason to click.
- Title is long: over 60 characters, so Google is likely to truncate it with “…”.
Why it matters
The title tag is usually the blue headline of your result in Google and the text in the browser tab. It is one of the strongest on-page signals of what a page is about, and it decides whether searchers click.
Google measures titles in pixels (about 600px on desktop), which is roughly 60 characters. Without a title, Google invents one from your headings or links, which rarely matches what people search for.
How to fix it
- Add exactly one
<title>inside<head>. - Write 30–60 characters: the main keyword first, then a benefit or detail, then your brand.
- Make it unique to this page and describe its content honestly, or Google may rewrite it.
- Preview it with our Google snippet preview tool before publishing.
