Page set to noindex
High priorityOn-page SEO
A robots meta tag or X-Robots-Tag header tells search engines not to show this page in results.
What triggers this issue
noindex(ornone) found in<meta name="robots">,<meta name="googlebot">or theX-Robots-TagHTTP header.
Why it matters
A noindex page is dropped from Google, however good it is. That is right for thank-you pages or internal search, but it is a common accident after launching a site that was hidden while in development.
The header version is easy to miss because it isn’t in the HTML.
How to fix it
- If the page should rank, remove
noindexfrom the robots meta tag. - Check your server or CDN config for an
X-Robots-Tag: noindexheader. - In WordPress, untick “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” under Settings → Reading.
- Request indexing in Google Search Console once it’s fixed.
