What triggers this issue
- The other host variant (with or without www) returns 200 instead of redirecting.
Why it matters
Two working versions of every page split backlinks and ranking signals and can be indexed as duplicates. Canonical tags help, but a redirect is the reliable fix.
How to fix it
- Pick one version (either is fine) and 301-redirect the other to it, keeping the path.
- Use the chosen version in canonicals, internal links and your sitemap.
