Generic link text like “click here”
Low priorityContent
Links use text such as “click here”, “read more” or “learn more” that says nothing about the destination.
What triggers this issue
- One or more links have text like “click here”, “here”, “read more”, “more” or “learn more”.
Why it matters
Descriptive anchor text tells search engines what the linked page is about and lets screen-reader users, who often list all links on a page, know where each goes.
How to fix it
- Describe the destination: “See pricing plans” instead of “click here”.
- For repeated “Read more” links on cards, add an
aria-labelwith the article title.
