Missing Open Graph tags

High prioritySocial & AI search

One or more of og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url and og:type are missing, so shared links look bare or wrong.

What triggers this issue

  • Missing og:image or og:title (error).
  • Missing og:description, og:url or og:type (warning).

Why it matters

Open Graph tags control the title, text and image shown when your link is shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage, Discord and more. Without them, platforms guess, often picking a logo or no image at all, and links with a large image get far more clicks.

How to fix it

  1. Add the missing tags to the page’s <head>.
  2. Use an absolute URL for og:image and og:url.
  3. Check the result with each platform’s sharing debugger.
